Term 4; Week 2 Panui
Mālo ni, welcome to Tokelau Language Week
What lovely weather we have had this weekend.
The children had a lovely first week back and all settled back in well. What a way to end the first week back. All the children had great fun at the colour run. We want to thank you everyone for your support for our Colour Run. It was an awesome event and lots of fun. There are lots of photos on our Facebook page
You are able to go online now and order the prizes. This needs to be done by October 31st. Prizes will be delivered to school. https://schoolfundraising.co.nz/
Thank you for having the children in their summer uniforms. Some mornings are still cold so they may need jerseys. Please make sure that your child has their sunhat every day. St Mary’s has the rule no hat, no play. So if they do not have a hat, they need to sit in the shade.
Can all items of uniform please be named as the children get changed for swimming and it can be hard to find their uniform if it is not named.
Swimming
This term we are all going swimming. The classes alternate swimming weeks. Please bring swimming togs and a towel each day when it is your swimming week. This week Kākano 1-4 will be swimming.
Grandparents/Grandfriends mass
Friday, October 28th at 9.30 am
Join us for Mass with Catholic songwriter and singer, Andrew Chinn leading our singing. We would love to see as many Grandparents/Grandfriends as possible there with us.

Term 4 - Week 1
Kia Ora and welcome back!
We hope everyone has had a safe and restful break. All of the teachers are looking forward to a busy and fun Term 4 with the children.
Uniform
Students are to start Term 4 in full summer uniform. Our Uniform Shop is open Mondays (8.30-9.00am), Wednesdays (2.30-3.00pm) & Fridays (8.30-9.00am) during term time. The girls’ summer dresses are currently only available from our school uniform shop. Please don’t forget children need to wear the school sun hats in term 4.
We also sell school uniforms via our school website. You can order and pay online and pick up your uniform from the school reception after you have been notified by email that the uniform is ready to pick up. Hopefully, this will be easier for those parents who find it difficult to get to our uniform shop.
Sunhats
Sunhats are a part of the summer school uniform. Thank you for helping your children pack their sunhat each day. We have a ‘no hat no play’ policy when it comes to being outside during play times.
Swimming
This term we are all going swimming. The classes alternate swimming weeks. Please bring swimming togs and a towel each day when it is your swimming week. This week Kākano 5, 6, 7, 8 will be swimming.
THE COLOUR RUN
It is the final week to get sponsors. Please continue in getting sponsors. If you haven’t made a profile yet, there is still time. We can keep going right to Friday and then the fun will begin. https://schoolfundraising.co.nz/ After the event the children will be able to order their prizes online. Orders need to be done by 31 October.
The Colour Run is finally upon us!!
The students have done an AMAZING job fundraising and it is now in the final week for getting sponsors. The colour run will take place this Friday afternoon the 21st of October starting at 1.30 pm
Students must wear old clothes for the run…they will be covered in coloured chalk by the end of it! (Rest assured it does wash out). Please send a change of clothes and a towel as there will be a water activity. They cannot use their sports uniform or their school uniform when taking part.
We invite you all to come along and watch the fun unfold!
If you would like to be a parent helper on the day please let Brigitte Holmes know.
brigitteh@stmarysrotorua.school.nz or text 0272121206.
The PTA helpers will be about but we will need more hands to help with safety, please volunteer if you can.

School COLOUR Fun Run!
Fantastic Fundraising
The effort and enthusiasm from students has been fantastic and we’ve had a great start to our big fundraiser for the year, as we were unable to hold a Gala Day.
Can your child come up with ideas to help them fundraise - chores, helping a neighbour in the garden, and I am sure there are many more ideas they can think of.
Please keep sharing your child's link
Go to schoolfunrun.co.nz, share your online fundraising link via SMS, Email and Social Media. If someone would like to sponsor your child and give them cash, they can do this. Please take the money to the office, with your child's name and room number and we will be able to add the amount to their profile.
THANK YOU! For the support we have received from everyone. It isn’t too late to make a profile for your child if you haven’t done one yet.
